How Your Inner Bulldog is Keeping You From Reaching Your Full Potential
Walking my dog was the hardest thing I did today.
You’ve heard of English Bulldogs, right? And the phrase, “stubborn as a bulldog?”
I have the cutest English Bulldog named Sophie. She is super squishy and snuggly, sleepy, and all about the pillows. She runs her own show. She knows what she wants (which is usually a nap), and she will dig in her paws if you are trying to get her to do something she just doesn’t want to do. It can be pretty funny (except when you have somewhere to be - like work.) Hot dogs usually get her up and going, but sometimes even hot dogs won’t do the trick.
As much as Sophie does not want to do anything that involves “moving,” she still needs to go outside 3x a day to do her business. So, yes, it is necessary that she do something she does not want to do.
Neighbors actually stop what they are doing and come to their windows and watch as I try to take this ornery dog out to the beach to pee. Sophie will playfully run towards the water. Always TOWARDS the water (not home). And then when she decides she is done, Sophie will just sit her butt down and refuse to move. To add insult to injury, if I try to coax her to please come home, she will lay down and put her chin on the sand as if to say, “Just try it lady.” I grudgingly admit that I have had to carry that 50 lb dog back to the house as the neighbors just laugh. They think it is hilarious.
As much as we have established a routine after 7 years of going out to the beach three times a day, she still fights it. EVERY. TIME.
So why am I telling you this?
Sometimes we can be a lot like Sophie. Comfortable in our situation. Reluctant to move forward. We may even KNOW that we need to move forward to improve our lives, but we think somehow if we DON’T move, we will still be okay. So, we just dig in our heels and sit.
I’m here to say, don’t be like Sophie.
Even if you are cute. Haha.
Because you are never going to reach your full potential if you stay in that comfort zone you have been living in. Time to make some changes for the better.
If you are an influencer or blogger who wants to see real growth in 2019, stand up. Set goals to build your community, start to monetize, and really build a foundation for your business by adding e-commerce to your business model.
I know that by expanding your business into dropshipping and e-commerce, you are going to have some pretty awesome things happening this year.
Can you imagine a year where you will
Contribute to your household budget and pay off some debts?
Take that “hobby” into a full-blown money making business with you as CEO?
Make your life a little easier by hiring an assistant, a nanny, or someone to help with the laundry?
Take some real steps towards living the dream life you truly want and deserve?
It is completely up to you.
Of course, if you want to dig in your heels like Sophie and stay where you are, then do it.
But if you are ready for a change, and ready to expand your business so that your financial situation and lifestyle can improve exponentially, then do it!
Stay strong. Get out of that comfort zone. See what you can accomplish. It is A LOT, I promise you!!
